Arriving the Stockyards

All was quite this afternoon as a GP7 sits near the turntable with a tower and oddly impressive station in the background.

After coming from Grapevine, the ex-Santa Fe geep pushes the train out of the Fort Worth Stockyards before heading south to the 8th avenue yard.

After reversing to the 8th Avenue Yard, GVRR 2199 leads the "Trinity River Run" trip over the Trinity Park Trestle as they return to the Stockyards.

Grapevine Vintage Railroad's former Santa Fe GP7 rebuild brings the 1:00 Stockyards Trinity River excursion to the Grapevine depot while "Puffy" steams on the other end.

After about 50 years on ATSF, a dignified retirement to sunny Texas, a new outfit and light part time work. Not a bad gig.
